In many villages across Morocco, preschool classrooms operate without electricity. They lack electrical connections or wiring, which significantly affects both the children and their educators.
Indeed, it has been observed locally and worldwide that school attendance rates improve with access to electricity. Electric lighting protects children’s eyesight when natural light is insufficient, especially during the short winter days. Electricity also allows for a wider range of activities, as educators can use modern teaching tools such as tablets and digital resources, enhancing the children’s learning experience.
Solar panels provide a sustainable energy solution for classrooms that are not connected to the electrical grid.
A simple and innovative solution: solar energy
Finance the installation of solar panels
Directly install solar panels
Whether you choose to finance or directly install solar panels, you can decide the number of units as well as their location using our map.
The installation of solar panels provides a clean energy source at a reasonable cost. FMPS has partnered with Vivo Energy Morocco to install 95 solar panels in preschool classrooms in El Jadida, Mohammedia, Agadir, Sidi Bennour, and Essaouira.
FMPS conducted field visits to collect data on classrooms lacking electrical infrastructure. Check our map to see which villages in the relevant provinces would benefit from solar panel installation in preschool classrooms.
Two options to contribute to the installation of solar panels:
TOGETHER, let’s bring electricity and light to every classroom in Morocco!
